Patrick Wilson

Profitable Association, Inc. is led by Patrick Wilson. In this capacity, Pat serves PAI's clients as their Trusted Advisor, Chief Growth Strategist, and as a dedicated extension to their leadership teams. He uses his more than 20 years of experience as a top-flight business development and consultative sales executive, entrepreneur, business owner, and strategic partner to associations to deliver multiple start-up, turnaround and revenue growth success stories for association non-dues revenue programs, events and strategic planning. Wilson’s sales, managerial, project management, and technology experience in the corporate world enables him to bring a well-rounded, strategic, bottom-line approach when helping associations meet their real world business challenges. Wilson was a key team member during the launch of Affinity Center International, spearheading member benefit solutions for associations of all sizes with affinity/member engagement and credit card programs. Wilson is also active in the American Society of Association Executives, having served on their Industry Partner Alliance Committee, and also with the Association Management Company Institute, having served its Membership Recruitment & Retention Taskforce. Wilson also serves on the Advisory Board of Advancea, a leading Affinity Solutions provider to Associations. He is also an advisor for the entrepreneurship program at CUA Busch School of Business VentureLab @ Catholic University. A native of Seattle, Washington, Wilson lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and three children.

Affinity Programs & Corporate Development

Over his 30 year career, David has focused on performance improvement of programs, products, teams and organizations. He has led large nonprofits, including the National Scrip Center which raised over $50 million a year for schools, churches and civic organizations through affinity programs. David has also served as president and managing director of Affinity Center International (ACI) a Maritz, Inc company. ACI developed loyalty coalition marketing programs and affinity programs based on people’s professions helping associations engage their members building improved loyalty in over 300 associations and engaging over 2 million members with over 2,500 corporate sponsorship partners. David holds a Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications from Loyola University. In addition, David has certificates from Wharton Business School, Harvard Business School, Kellogg Business School, Ross Business School, St. Thomas University, and The Brookings Institute in a variety of areas including change management, new product development, nonprofit management, and strategic planning. David currently lives in St. Louis with his wife Kristy.

Dave’s background is as a mechanical engineer, working in various roles and responsibilities until a career change opportunity came along. Since that change over 15 years ago, he has specialized in technical B2B trade publications and events where he can leverage his engineering knowledge and practice to help grow client’s business. Dave and his wife Wendi live in the Granite state where they enjoy being outside – especially autumn and playing in the snow during winter. They are the proud parents of three cats.

Heather brings over a decade of sales, operations, marketing, finance, and business development experience to PAI. Her specialties include sales management, budgeting/forecasting, advertising, production, lead generation, brand development, and business strategy. Prior to relocating to the Washington DC metro area, Heather was Advertising Sales Director at Trusted Media Brands in NYC, where she oversaw the integrated sales teams for Reader’s Digest, Taste of Home, Family Handyman, and their enthusiast publications. Beforehand, she lead the print production department at People Magazine, where she was responsible for the ad positioning and production of over 52 issues per year. Heather began her career working for Worth Magazine, where she helped produce a bi-monthly luxury/financial magazine and was instrumental in launching their Curator/A Global Luxury Event series. She is originally from Connecticut and received her undergraduate degree from New York University.

Director of Goldmining/Database Manager

Ellen has been with PAI since 2002, providing expertise in list and database management, and supporting CRM and contact management systems for PAI and its clients. She maps the industry universe in which a client operates, cultivating, developing, defining and identifying market segment prospects to enable PAI to “gold mine” for clients with effective and efficient targeted marketing based on project needs, goals and timing. Rahr’s background includes serving as Associate Marketing Director for the American Society of Landscape Architects where she oversaw all marketing aspects for the association, maintained recruitment and retention programs, and was responsible for the writing, design and production of marketing materials for initiatives such as recruitment, annual convention attendance promotion and educational opportunities awareness.

Marketing & Digital Communications Manager

An experienced communications strategist, Katie LaPotin has been successfully helping political and corporate organizations with their marketing and communications needs for more than a decade. By emphasizing the use of big data and market research, Katie has developed and implemented successful polling and data programs for organizations at all levels of operations. She has also spent time working as a political reporter and communications strategist, where she specialized in developing successful earned and digital media efforts for both political and corporate clients. A Philadelphia native, Katie has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from American University and a master’s degree in Political Communications from the London School of Economics. She currently lives in Alexandria, VA with her beagle, Amalia Bella.
